Bringing art and science together, this series combines the latest scientific research on women’s health with effective techniques which can help you thrive rather than just survive.
Combining Anne’s medical background and Michal’s coaching skills, each workshop will provide you with the knowledge you need and the actions you can take to improve your health & wellbeing and to be happier.
Wednesday 4/18/2012 10 am – noon
In this workshop we will explore mindfulness – what it means, how it can improve your life, and how to practice it. We’ll review scientific studies that show numerous health benefits of mindfulness, including improved immune system function, lower blood pressure, better sleep, reduced anxiety and depression, and reduced hot flashes in menopausal women. We will demonstrate several mindfulness practices, and learn hands-on exercises that can be applied in your daily life to improve your health and well-being.

Anne Namnoum is a physician who trained at Johns Hopkins Hospital in OB/GYN and Reproductive Endocrinology. After practicing medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Emory University, and in private practice in Atlanta, she has spent the last several years taking care of her six children and studying many aspects of women’s health that were not taught in medical school. She loves sharing medical and scientific research that can help women take a more active role in their health care, and thrive rather than just survive
